Also, little question, who's still with me?^^
Hey there all of you artists willing to take this challenge!
This is supposed to be FUN in the first place. Beyond that, if you learn something about composition, colors, lighting etc., that's great. There're no due-dates, no rules besides "don't steal other people's ideas", no restrictions on a certain topic.
That means, if you're not an equine artist, but draw manga or fruits or make 3D fractal art, you're still more than welcome to join in! The more, the merrier!
Here's how it works: I'm going to post a task every other week, beginning with TASK 1 and 2 today. You can join in and drop out whenever you feel like it, it doesn't matter. You can post your results below in the comments (upload it to dA or Stash if you don't feel like you want to bother your watchers with it), comment on other people's results if you feel like it etc. You do not need to upload anything!
However if there's really zero feedback on this, I might not continue the series, since idk if there's anyone involved at all^^
This is not a contest, but a challenge; you can learn from other artist's critiques and by giving some yourself. If you don't want no critiques, add it to your work, so nobody will be offended and bothered.
And here it comes
TASK 1
1. Open some kind of playlist that contains more than 20 songs.
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. For every song that plays, think of a visual motif and write it down. That way, create a list of 7-10 different motifs
EXAMPLE: "Learning to fly" by Pink Floyd - I'm thinking of a unicorn, desperately trying to fly, but it's earthbound and has to watch all those pegasi fly. Ugh. So sad. Poor transspecies unicorn.
TASK 2
1. Pick your three favorite motifs from TASK 1.
2. For every motif, think of three possible ways to depict it.
3. Scribble it digitally or on paper (although I recommend digital with regard to the future tasks), just a sketch, no color, no shading.
It shouldn't take you more than ~10min for every depiction. It doesn't need to be beautiful, nor do other people NEED to know what it shows exacly. However, here are three restrictions (it doesn't matter if you put them all into one depiction or just randomly apply them):
I: In one depicition of each motif, keep your objects out of the dead center. Divide your image into thirds like here : img04.deviantart.net/7a9a/i/20… and keep the most interesting points aproximately at the intersection points of the lines
II: In one depicition of each motif, give the objects action: make them move. If your object is standing, make something else around it move (hair, leaves, a coat, traffic, whatever)
III: In one depiction of each motif, try a crazy perspective: show everything from above or below for example.
EXAMPLES for "Learning to fly":
TASK 3
1. If you sketched on paper in TASK 2, take a photo of the sketches or scan them.
2. For every motif, take your favorite set-up from TASK 2 and shade it in 3 different ways.
Restrictions:
I: Make at least one image with maximum contrast, which means you'll need to have white areas and black areas.
II: Make at last one image with backlighting.
III: Make one image, in which you use a spot-light to light up the parts of the scene that you want to enhance.
EXAMPLES:
TASK 4
1. For every motif, take your favorite lighting set-up from TASK 3 and shade it in 3 different ways.
Restrictions:
I: Make at least one image with one hue-spectrum only, like this for example: coolors.co/app/ffb997-f67e7d-8…
II: Make at last one image with two contrasting hue-spectrums, like this for example: coolors.co/app/264653-2a9d8f-e…
TASK 5
1. Take your very favorite, colored sketch and make it a real, fully rendered artwork.
Restrictions:
I: Have fun!
So, go for it! I'm curious to see what you come up with. The numbers in this challenge are not mandatory, it's like a 30-days-abs-challenge: adjust them so they fit you. They're just recommendations. Also, you can always go back to the challenge and add more results to your tasks when you have the time or inspiration.
If you have any questions or want advice, feel free to comment or send me a note. Have fun!
Gallery Cleanup / Commissions
Hey folks,
Gallery Cleanup | So, after a long time of absence (again), I decided my deviantart gallery needs some attention. Which means for one that I'm planning on uploading new stuff occasionally, but I'm also going to remove a lot of the artworks that have either been practices, icons or that I'm not content with any longer. So, if there's anything that you want to keep, I'd kindly ask you to save it but not upload it elsewhere. DDs and 100+ favs will stay for sure though.
Commissions | Maybe you've noticed, maybe not, but my core membership is gone. Oh noes! :noes: Anyway, in order to get it back, I'll open a commission slot (yup, on
I need to get my artistic butt back in shape...
So I'm offering a human portrait commission slot. I really have to start drawing again. My muse has been a lazy ass lately.
Price: 1200 points
Style: pick as you wish
realistic or messy&colorful
Just comment below with character, references, face claims, wanted accessories and style wish. I'll pick one based on where my muse says "yes, I think I can do that!" ^^;
[If you don't get picked, don't worry too much. It's probably not the last time I'm doing this ;)]

The Unseen Heartblood
In German, there's a term: Herzblut. It translates to heartblood. Putting your heartblood into something means that it's something that you made with a lot of emotion, effort and ambition. You put blood, sweat and tears into it. You believed in it. You're convinced that it's the most amazing thing you've ever created. And, let's be honest, when you create something you're really proud of, you want other people to notice it. You can repeat "I create art for myself" or "The way is the goal" as often as you wish, but - I can only speak for myself but I'm sure others can relate - deep inside you want that other people love the outcome as much as
Let's play the tag-game
So my beloved sister ~Matschkuchn (https://www.deviantart.com/matschkuchn) tagged me. Uh. I don't want to be the killjoy so I'm sorry but you'll have to deal with this. Question and answers time! :dummy:
THE RULES:
1. Write the rules
2. Answer the 13 questions made by the person who tag you, and make your own 13 questions
3. Tag 13 deviants. And I mean ONLY 13!
4. Make sure that they know that they are tagged
5. Don't say "You're tagged if you read this..."
6. It is forbidden to not tag anyone
7. Tag backs are allowed
8. If you're lazy, do it in the comments of this journal
9. You don't have to accept a tag if you don't want to
1. What made you join deviantart?

I'm still with you! I have so many new ideas, this is going to change my whole method of brainstorming new manips. I'm on step two at the moment cx
Here's task one: Manip Concepts
These songs are what happens when you put your sister's music on shuffle. It was a bit of an odd mix to listen to cx
